When it comes to the sport of javelin, I’ve only ever had one goal, and that is to win medals for the USA. There is an art to achievement, and I am confident that I will inspire many children and young people to follow their dreams and aspirations. I want to be a spokesperson and an ambassador of athletics for thousands, especially those who grew up in difficult circumstances, much like myself. My grandparents raised me when my biological parents could not, and ultimately were the ones who taught me how to fight for what I wanted out of life. This desire to achieve beyond my means is why I want to inspire the youth, and teach them that all important things can be attained if we work hard, and stay disciplined.
